It’s takeover time!
Hello, fashion lovers!
We’re now at the end of our third month of being online, and whew, has it been a wild ride. The most exciting thing has been being able to reach people outside of our neck of the woods – hello, new American friends! We’re so happy you’ve found us, and we’re excited to continue providing meticulously curated, beautiful products, and at great prices.
We’ve got more exciting news to share with you all. Soon, we will be launching a fabulous social media campaign where we give over our Instagram account to women makers we adore!
We’ve invited some of our favourite designers to take over our Instagram stories -there are no rules; they can do whatever they like with our stories.
You’ll hear directly from them about their designs and their processes. You’ll even get a peek into the real lives of these brilliant women (how DO they come up with some of these gorgeous designs, and what’s more, how on earth do they make them?!).
Some designers may show you their workspaces, maybe even their sketches for upcoming lines they’re launching. They will definitely show you some of their favourite pieces this season, many of which are sold in our sweet little boutique in Galt, Cambridge.
As a social enterprise run by a feminist organization (YWCA Cambridge), supporting and celebrating women makers is the key ingredient in our brand. Over the last ten years of operating, we’ve made connections with some of the most creative, badass women makers this part of the world has to offer. And we want you to get to know them, too! This is our way of highlighting their beautiful work and in their own way, on their own terms.
Just who will be taking over our Instagram feed? Well, we like surprises, so we’re not going to tell you just yet.
All you need to do is be sure to tune into our Instagram over the next few weeks. And if you miss the stories, don’t fret. We’ll save each takeover as a highlight in our Instagram profile. Don’t follow us yet? Get on it! @wigg_ywcacambridge.
