Leah Yard Summer 2022

Leah Yard is a jewellery designer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has been designing for over ten years and loves to create with a focus on classic glamour. You will see a filagree style that is a signature element of her designs. She works with sterling silver, 14 karat gold-fill to a brass core. Metals are sourced from Canada and the U.S. with semi-precious stones from around the world. All pieces are Canadian made using these materials.

A Note from Leah Yard:

HOW IT STARTED:
In 2020, against all odds, we grew and moved the LYD Studio into a larger space. Though this was a celebratory milestone for the brand, we could not ignore the devastating circumstances of those occupying the neighboring streets in Vancouver's Downtown East Side. We felt helpless, and deeply affected by the daily tragedy so many are experiencing. In an attempt to help, SERIES was born. 15% of each item sold in the collection is donated to the DEWC [Downtown Eastside Women's Centre]. We chose this foundation as we are aware of the disproportionate risks women face in the DTES. It's a small gesture towards a much bigger issue. But it's someplace for us to start.

WHY SERIES?
We decided on the name SERIES because we believe that: "We are all a series of events away from someone else's life "Under different circumstances, timing, or chance, every one of us could be living an entirely different life. We all have more in common than we do not. Our hope is that this statement evokes empathy.
